THIS IS HOW YOU CIRCLE THE WAGONS

Remember that really, really embarrassing moment when Glenn Beck started shrieking in falsetto at a woman who challenged him on health care, then called her a "pinhead"? Remember how he became a big laughingstock?

Well, according to Fox, you have that all wrong. Beck has nothing to be ashamed of -- just the opposite. Fox is defining that moment as must-see TV ...

Here's the video, from Bill O'Reilly's show:

O'Reilly pokes (very, very) gentle fun at Beck -- but clearly, to Fox, Beck's freakout was admirable. Clearly, to Fox, this isn't a moment that deserves to be swept under the rug -- it's a moment that deserves to be celebrated. (The base already felt that way.) And that changes the frame a bit, doesn't it?

Is it incorrect to say that Beck is getting more backup for this from the faithful on this meltdown than Obama is getting from members of his own party in Congress on health care?

If the right had a Howard Dean scream to contend with, GOP message massagers would have been out there boasting about the moment. Id the right had a Joe Biden, his gaffes would be proof of his genuineness, or something like that.

You can't keep the right down. This is why. It's not merely that the right has no shame -- it has pride in place of shame.
