RASMUSSEN GETS REVISED MARCHING ORDERS FROM THE GOP ESTABLISHMENT

Rasmussen, the semi-official polling firm of the Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy, knows which side its bread is buttered on. When the rise of Newt Gingrich became undeniable not long ago, it clearly believed its job was to put lipstick on a pig -- and so, at the end of last month, we had a Rasmussen poll telling us in all seriousness that Gingrich was beating Barack Obama by 2 points among voters nationwide. (As Talking Points Memo has recently noted, if you average the latest polls from various non-Rasmussen organizations, Obama beats Gingrich 50.1% to 39.5%.)

Well, now the word has gone out: with regard to Gingrich's candidacy, the GOP establishment doesn't want anyone to put lipstick on the pig, it wants everyone to kill the pig. And Rasmussen dutifully does its part:

Iowa: Romney 23%, Gingrich 20%, Paul 18%

Show of hands: who actually believes both of these results were based on careful scientific polling with no interest in a predetermined outcome?

I believe Rasmussen should change it's name to "Whatchoowant?"

Because, baby, they've got it!

It must be nice - Conservatives have got Luntz to test it, and Whatchoowant? to poll it.
And sometimes AP and Gallup lend a hand, lest one whore get all of the john's cash.
